The first trailer for 'Wonka' has finally arrived, giving us our best look so far at Timothée Chalamet's version of the classic character of Roald Dahl.

"companion piece" to the classic 1971 film 'A World of Fantasy', starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, and will delve into the origins of the Master chocolatier and how he became the king of sweets building his famous factory. Writer/director Paul King

Wonka will be released in theaters worldwide on December 15, 2023.

While we don't have music in the trailer, King promised that "Wonka" will feature songs and dances, including original songs by Neil Hannon from "The Divine Comedy" and covers of classics like "Pure Imagination." And although the Trailer doesn't feature those songs, at least it ends with a fun one introduction to Hugh Grant's Oompa Loompa in the film.

Chalamet was previously seen in character with a photo from the set, which led several fans to compare him to Johnny Depp from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Tim Burton.

"What's really funny is that it's so misleading. This movie is so touching, so joyful...", he said of the audience's reaction to the film, before describing his motivations for taking on the role.

"I hate to say it, but an artist's dream is to throw whatever you want against the Wall, you know? And I think I realized that his personal life, his life adult, can be quite boring and your life as an artist can still be extraordinary."

Olivia Colman, who plays the film's villain, praised the Chalamet's performance as Willy Wonka in December 2022: "Does something different. My pleasure. It's very beautiful on screen. It's magical."
