Trump's account was suspended the day after his supporters were suspended. They rioted at the Capitol two years ago. The former president's account is will activate in the coming weeks.
"Should Mr. Trump post more content that violates policies, Content will be removed and your access to the platform will be suspended for one month to two years, depending on the severity of the violation," Clegg said.
Digital World shares were volatile on Wednesday after the decision announced by Meta. Meta shares closed down 1.15% to $141.50 on Wednesday, while Digital World shares ended the day up 2.9%, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
